A violent incident in Chicago has left a 25-year-old man seriously injured following a stabbing in the downtown area late Thursday night. The attack occurred on May 14, 2026, at approximately 9:16 p.m. along the 0–100 block of North State Street.
According to preliminary information, the victim was outside when he approached a group of unknown individuals, leading to a verbal altercation. During the confrontation, a 36-year-old male suspect reportedly produced a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the back.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Northwestern Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. Authorities have not released additional details about his identity as of this time.
Police confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident, and charges are pending. Area Three Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the altercation.
